We ventured back to Pane again today for our meeting with the village leaders and the single mothers. The meeting consisted of explaining to the people what we were going to be doing and how the process would work. At the end we got information from the single mothers such as: their names, how many children they have, whether or not they have a house, and if they have a house we needed to know if they had a latriene(outhouse). The number of women was almost discouraging and come to find out over half of them have no house. We wanted to help them out by building them latrienes but you cannot build a latriene for them if they have no house. I mean some of these women have 4 or 5 kids, one even had 12. They have nothing. Where does one even begin? Please pray for these people...
In the mean time, we played with the children and taught them the wonderful sport of frisbee! They seemed to have a good time as you can tell from the picture.
Tomorrow is back to the clinic, please pray for me as I am pushed beyond my comfot zone daily. Pray that the Lord would calm my nerves, my fears, and erase any doubt. Also pray that the Lord would sustain me as I await for my friends arrival on Saturday! I want to make the most of the last few days that I have here in Siguatepeque, pray for effectivness.

Sounds like somebody needs to start planning to build some houses (with latrines). That's a big deal though, you gotta be careful to plan well and have a good way to prioritize who gets a house first, etc.
Anyway, sounds like things are going well for you. It's natural to be nervous when you are doing something you've never done before, so don't worry about it. Just remember that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of LOVE and of POWER and of a sound mind.

o wow! thats so sad about those single women with children not having homes! and gosh, 12 kids! those kids are beautiful and that pic is too fun! praying for your work there!
man. i cannot imagine the heartbreak of seeing those people and feeling powerless to provide for all of their critical physical needs. but the God you serve is using you in ways you can't even begin to understand. just keep sharing your sweet spirit with those precious people! we're praying!
